On Bluesdays, Wursdays and Sadderdays, the hospital patients have group therapy with Dr. Party and Dr. Handerson where they talk about what they’re going through together. They sit in one big circle.

Similar to the Speaking Conch, Handerson gives a patient a dismembered hand to hold. Whoever is holding the hand gets to speak. You cannot interrupt the person holding the hand. You have to raise your hand to ask for the hand

If you interrupt the person holding the hand (and you do not have the hand) You might lose your hand and have it sacrificed to the box of dismembered hands used for group. Some patients have used the loophole of grabbing the hand while another patient is still holding it. There is technically no rule against this but most patients recognize interruption as rude.

I know this has nothing to do with anything but my first thought was Uni having the hand and saying something bad about himself and/or using self-deprecating humor, and Caroline swiping the hand from him and saying in a vaguely threatening voice, “If you ever talk shit about my best friend again I will physically fight you.”
