I’ve finally got access to digital, so I decided to revamp my Sparklecare Hospital OC, Danni! She’s a disaster and I love her. (Also, it doesn’t say it, but the bits of green in Danni’s hair is dye. She tried to dye her hair to impress Caroline and failed.)

pro-cringe-bitch:

To everyone against cringe culture

Too fucking bad.

It’s here to stay.

What you’re doing IS cringey and you should stop.

I’m not going to go into everything right now so here are the basics.

Self inserts are boring and frankly quite stupid. Instead of actually working to make an interesting well thought out and balanced decent character here you are just making your bland can do no wrong Mary sue and shipping yourself with fictional characters. Self inserts kill creativity in younger writers. If all of your character amount to It’s me in this series you have a problem and are a shitty writer that needs to improve.

Self shipping is not healthy. I frankly don’t care if it’s “escapism” or if you “know the difference between fiction and reality” Being obsessed with this fictional character will bring nothing but trouble. It may seem okay to you but actually normal people will be disturbed and not want to associate with your creepy ass. Maybe if you put down your waifu pillow, took a shower for the first time in years, got out of the basement people and acted normal they would actually want to be around you.

Special interesrs/hyper focus is not healthy. Spending all of your time obsessing with a thing is not okay. Obsession 👏 is 👏 not 👏 a 👏 good 👏 thing 👏 in 👏 any 👏 sort 👏 of 👏 context! 👏 You need to work on controlling your obsessive nature. You can focus on other things if you actually tried. You dont need to spend hours on end doing whatever your special interest is. You can expand your horizons and do other things if you fucking try. It’s not hard.

Calling out people on bad art is needed for the artist and other artists to grow. If you went to an actual art school with your shitty anime art you would be laughed out of the school. People need to be told they didn’t do good enough so they can improve. Sugar coating and holding their hand will only hurt them in the long run. They will have no back bone and will lash out at critique and they will basically end up being Andrew Dobsons wallowing in their own mediocrity until they decide to change. Are you going to be a wittle fragile snowflake and cry or are you going to grow thicker skin and actually work to get better to prove them wrong? Your choice.

Acting stupid or weird on the internet should get you called out. You are making people feel weird and uncomfortable and if you don’t like it well tough fucking shit grow a fucking pair snowflake. This is actually important with kids too. If they grow up thinking their weird shit is okay there will basically be a new generation of Chris Chans. Do you want that? No? Well call them out and let them know what they are doing isn’t okay so they know and can have a chance to change.

More later.

I apologize ahead of time for the block of text. I’m on mobile, so I can’t make paragraphs. But I hope you take the time to read this as I think it has some useful advice.

Mary Sues are usually bland characters and that much can be true; but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to make fun of them for being bad. I don’t see how it kills creativity, personally. It practices it, even in a small way. There is also no way that these children are going to make well-thought out, balanced characters because they are kids, and they’re still new at this. Nobody is perfect on their first try. If they like making characters, they will continue to do it and learn more, and eventually stop making Mary Sues and self inserts.

First things first, why are you acting as if all these people are social outcasts? I mean, they could very well be doing this stuff in private and all. And I know, from having a cousin who’s into this stuff, that nobody in real life thinks it’s disturbing or creepy.

I’m afraid that, unless you have autism yourself, you can’t say what people with autism can and cannot do, because you, quite literally, cannot know.

“Calling out people on bad art is needed for the artist and other artists to grow. If you went to an actual art school with your shitty anime art you would be laughed out of the school. I’m not going to say that you can’t be harsh in your critique of art, as that would be stupid. However, you do have to keep in mind that you can’t just say ‘this art is cringe and you should feel bad’. You need to point out the bad, and then OFFER WAYS TO IMPROVE. That last bit is extremely important. There’s a difference between ‘the eyes look crappy’ and ‘the eyes are too far apart, maybe try looking at references or sketching out lines on the character’s face’. Something else helpful is pointing out what the artist did right. Harsh critique is needed, but you can’t just call something cringe and then call that critique. Because at that point, it’s not critique; it’s bullying.

“Acting stupid or weird on the internet should get you called out. You are making people feel weird and uncomfortable and if you don’t like it well tough fucking shit grow a fucking pair snowflake. This is actually important with kids too. If they grow up thinking their weird shit is okay there will basically be a new generation of Chris Chans. Do you want that? No? So, what you are literally saying here is that it is okay to bully kids for acting weird? I acted weird as a kid, and I think everyone did at some point. In fact, I’m certain. But it’s not your job to teach them how to behave. It’s the parents’ job; it’s not your problem. If the children being ‘cringy’ are making you uncomfortable, I would advise blocking them so you won’t have to look at their posts. That way, both sides of the spectrum are happy. If it’s in real life, inform the parents that you find the child’s behavior odd, and they will handle it. And, also, telling someone ‘tough shit, grow a pair snowflake’ is the equivalent of someone on the playground saying ‘I’m not a bully, you’re just a crybaby’!

TL;DR: The children are not your problem, they are the parents’ if they are acting weird, so you don’t need to ‘teach them’ anything. You can’t just call something cringe and say it’s critique; you have to offer ways to improve. You can’t tell what autistic people can and can’t do about our special interests unless you are autistic yourself. Most people don’t mind this stuff in real life, especially if it is a child (which it tends to be), despite what you say; at least in my experience. And kids aren’t going to have perfect OCs the first time, as they are brand-new to the OC scene. If they seriously want to continue this, they will learn to do it by themself as they get older. Basically: Those kids are not your problem. All of these issues have solutions outside of you. I think you’ll be a lot happier if you just blocked all of the kids. I hope you take some of this advice, and have a nice day!
