i actually think itâs terrible that people demand survivors to forgive their abusers. itâs like they are saying âi know, youâve always existed to make your abuser feel better and guess what? you still have to do that. you arenât allowed to be a real person with real feelings of justified anger. you have to be a good victim. you have to be obedient. your abuserâs feelings are still much more important than your well beingâ
oh and saying shit like ‘itâs necessary for your recovery that you forgive themâ is a manipulative lie. just fuck off.
