A few headcanons for the AU:

Green blushes from his ears so he grew his hair out so it sort of covered them
Red flirts with Green sometimes, thinking Green’s straight, to be funny
Green is Very Not Straight but is also Very In The Closet
Green’s first “official” act of rebellion was getting piercings without his grandpa’s permission
Red loves saturated, bright colors
Green also has his tongue pierced
They are mutually romantically pining for each other but refuse to confess because they are gay dumbasses

Red is constantly loud and attention-seeking because his mom is often busy
Green makes “I crave death” jokes and nobody knows if he’s kidding or not
