Sparklecare Hospital, despite its quite dark and adult premise, is easily the best special interest I have ever had. Not only is there a very popular autistic character, but many characters are LGBT+, and the creators are so awesome. They’re willing to answer questions and support and love OCs and OC x canon ships. Plus, they work hard to accurately represent the disabilities/mental illnesses they portray! And the fandom is small but so, so nice. Plus, the ‘official’ (I put it in quotes because they’re not canon technically) tumblr accounts of the characters are so fucking pure!! Like!! I’m talking to Uni right now!! I’m making plant jokes with Hemera!!! I’m talking about loving girls to Caroline!!!! Like I’m happy stimming so much just from a short interaction from one of these blogs.

TL;DR: The subject material of Sparklecare Hospital is mature and dark, but the fandom and the people behind it are kind and lovely people.

REASONS WHY THE POKEPAL @lgbt-pokemon PAIRED ME UP WITH HERE IS GREAT:

  1. I love pastel pink aesthetics
  2. Blissey is a known healer, and she could heal any wounds I got from daydreaming and tripping
  3. I imagine she is very squishy!!! Plus it’s said in the Ruby/Sapphire Pokedex that her coat is fluffy!
  4. Blissey is very patient, so what if she let me doodle on her with washable stuff?
  5. Built-in pouch for not only her egg, but maybe some comfort items too, to help with breakdowns!
  6. A quiet and kind Pokemon, so I imagine she is patient enough to listen to me babble about my special interests
  7. She is a very powerful Pokémon, so my paranoia about being found and attacked by my abuser would be lessened knowing that this pink wall of defense would protect me!
  8. It can sense feelings of sadness, so it could sense my anxiety and stop a panic attack before it comes
  9. Can learn Sing, which would help immensely with my insomnia!
  10. Can learn Aromatherapy, which speaks for itself; it could help calm me down, as I love nice scents

Overall 10/10 Pokepal assignment and a great possibility for a service Pokemon! Thank you for this lovely little pink pal, @lgbt-pokemon!
